At One Thousand Museum, Dame Zaha Hadid's Downtown Miami tower and the poster-child of Miami's starchitect-designed condo towers, only two of the building's gargantuan 10,000 square foot full-floor units appear to be on the market. And only one of those two has spectacular photography, despite being sold as more-or-less as a white box, for the buyer to do what they will with. That's unit 5701. (The other one, if you're curious, is 5901)
I recently wrote this piece for the Miami Herald. In the last real estate cycle, condo buildings by big name architects or avant-garde designers were big business in Miami. Now that the real estate market has softened, the big question was whether this would last. It turns out it will. Read more at the Miami Herald.
One Thousand Museum, the closely watched ultra-luxury skyscraper in Downtown Miami designed by starchitect Zaha Hadid, has been completed and received its Temporary Certificate of Occupancy, One Sotheby's International Realty announced on their blog. Sotheby's has represented One Thousand Museum since the project was launched.
Monad Terrace, famed French architect Jean Nouvel's first project in Miami, has just topped off, and the Big Bubble got a hard hat tour of the boutique luxury condo project's construction site with architect Kobi Karp, who collaborated with Nouvel on the project. Check it out, below.
One of Miami's most anticipated new residential projects, Park Grove, has been completed. Well, two thirds of it is done at least. Construction of Two Park Grove and Park Grove Club Residences has just wrapped up and been unveiled, while One Park Grove, the tower closest to the bay, remains under construction. It will be done next year.
The dearly departed grand dame of contemporary architecture, Zaha Hadid, was a big fan of Miami. The internationally renowned architect of the currently-under-construction One Thousand Museum in Downtown Miami loved Miami so much she had a vacation home here, where she spent a lot of time before her untimely death at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach (yes, she even died here).
Internationally renowned designer Karim Rashid, king of the candy-colored woggle-shaped everything, has put his South Beach vacation place on the market for $589,000. The two bedroom condo, believe it or not, is actually designed in a more subdued version of Rashid at full flower. Yet it's still deliciously 'him.' Here are lots of pictures, plus what the brokerbabble has to say:
