The forthcoming Triptych Hilton Curio Collection Hotel, planned for the corner of 36th Street and N. Miami Avenue, across the street from Midtown Miami, is breaking ground in the second quarter of next year, according to Francisco Arocha, CEO of HES Group.

The hotel is a 20-story building between Midtown Miami and the I-195 highway, and will include 297 rooms, more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space, an elevated pool deck with restaraunt and a rooftop deck with another restaraunt. Below all of that, the first and second levels will offer 40,000 square feet of retail space. The previously-planned 70,000 square feet of office space and underground mechanical parking garage have both been axed. Designed by Bermello Ajamil & Partners, renderings show a boxy white building with curtain glass walls over double-height interior spaces, brightly lit up in a kalaidascope of colors at night.
