Built circa 1903, this house in Miami’s Upper East Side is a whopping 116 years old. By Miami standards, that’s practically ancient. It’s located in the vicinity of Lemon City, one of South Florida’s settlements, which predates the founding of Miami itself. The brokerbabble also claims the house is on “Miami’s oldest intact turn-of-the-century street,” which is rather debatable.

Located at 650 NE 68th Street, just off Biscayne Boulevard it’s within walking distance of some great restaurants and just around the corner from Legion Park. The four-bedroom, 2,300 square foot, three story wooden house is compact but comes with some fabulous original features. It has pecky cypress walls and ceilings, including lots of exposed wood in the living areas, a wrought iron staircase, secret closets, and porches on the front and back of the house.

While preserving original features, it has been updated with an “industrial-chic kitchen,” exposed steel beams, and impact windows. Out back is a lagoon-style pool with a hot tub, and a petite waterfall. It was sold in 2011 for $410,000. It was listed fourteen days ago for $850,000. That’s double the money in eight years, minus the cost of the updates, which might not have been cheap.
