A simple but adorable, and very sensitively renovated, house by iconic subtropical modernist architect Alfred Browning Parker has been on the market for about four months in Coconut Grove for just over two million dollars. The house was listed for sale in late April, almost sold in early May, and has been just, well, on the market since then. Would you say that’s a long time in this market, or nah? How about the price, for a rather modest 1,600 square foot house? One hopes that whoever the next owners appreciate the house for its architectural value, but most of that price tag might just be in the land, a shady spot in the heart of the grove, on a natural coral rock ridge. Time, and really whoever has an opinion, can only tell.
