Villa Paula, the storied, old Cuban consulate in Miami, is about to hit the market. Listed by ONE Sotheby’s International Realty agent Jean-Louis Delbeke, the property will hit the market at $4.5million as part of a four-lot commercial assemblage, according to a publicist. The house is really quite special. Here’s a little something I wrote about Villa Paula for Curbed Miami, back in the day:

Miami has relatively few places considered, by those who believe in the paranormal, to be ‘haunted.’ One of those places, sometimes called the most haunted building in Miami, is Villa Paula, the city’s first Cuban consulate. Villa Paula was built with all-Cuban materials and labor in the 1920s, and executed in the elaborate style of a luxurious Cuban villa, with high ceilings, chandeliers, tall cedar windows, statuary, etc. Named after the wife of Cuban Consul Domingo Millord, the villa is said to be haunted by her. Most of the claims of ghostly activity have been debunked, however, says the Miami New Times. Unlikely ever to return to its use as a consulate, the historic villa is now being restored by its owners who are using it as an art gallery.

Since then Villa Paula has been used as an art gallery and event space for a few years.
