American Express has sponsored artist Es Devlin to create an immersive, site-specific installation in the Forum of the Miami Beach Edition hotel that they’re calling a “vaulted elliptical mirror maze.” Room 2022 will be open to the public from December 7th to 10th. Judging by renderings and press photos of his work, the installation looks incredible. This is how they describe it:

Room 2022: An Installation by Es Devlin, Presented by American Express Platinum (Open to the public in the Forum of the Miami Beach EDITION)– Award-winning artist and stage designer Es Devlin reimagines the physical and psychological space of the Miami Beach EDITION hotel through a site-specific, experiential installation featuring a vaulted elliptical mirror maze, soundscapes and video. The work utilizes the physical characteristics of hotel design to explore the psychology of human experience within these spaces, and the everyday acts of magic and imagination that allow them to function.

Along with Room 2022, AmEx will be hosting the Platinum House at the Miami Beach Edition and a dinner at the SLS South Beach on Friday night by Chef José Andrés, both for Platinum and Centurion Card holders.This being Art Basel, there will be plenty of people with credit cards such as those roving about.

At the dinner, for which tickets are required, “the evening will feature a live art installation by Puerto Rican artists, Omar Obdulio and Carlos Mercado over a progressive dinner with specialty cocktails and music.” according to AmEx.
