Over the past week or so I’ve had the fun of attending two particularly big grand openings for two big development projects in Brickell: Brickell City Centre and SLS Brickell. They were thrown by two of Miami’s biggest developers, Related and Swire, eager to show off their fanciest. flashiest. latest, and largest new projects.
Hundreds of guests were very well fed and watered with food and drink while they explored each project. Champagne, as at so many real estate shindigs, flowed. BCC had enough Perrier-Jouet for a thousand, while at SLS the champs was served by human chandeliers, that missing character from Beauty and the Beast. Boy George, Pitbull, and Susanne Bartsch performed. And of course Uber drivers must have done a swinging business shuttling all us sauced-up people home.
Of course, with Miami Art Week coming up this week, all of this is comparatively tame. So, party on people.
