The amenity lists of most pre-construction condos are stuffed with perks, but from pools to helipads (seriously! 1000 Museum has one) buyers typically get the benefits once the tower is done. Some buildings, however, are setting themselves apart by offering buyers amenities while the des res is still being built. With these buildings, buyers get a taste of the ‘suite’ life right after writing a check. How’s that for immediate gratification? Here are a few perks and where you can get them.
A Concierge
A few buildings are offering concierge services before completion. One River Point is one. And Elysee is offering a concierge service called Elysee Attache that begins when owners have given their initial deposits. This is how the Elysee website describes the service:
“Imagine having a dedicated personal attaché to handle all your personal planning. Someone who knows you and your family — and is trained to collaborate with you in handling everything from travel plans, shopping, cleaning and your family’s health and entertainment activities. Now imagine living in a building that offers a curated program designed to help you make the most of the extensive amenities here. Introducing Elysee Attaché, a personal assistance service that begins when you make you initial deposit on your residence at Elysee Miami.”
Beach Club Access
A number of buildings in South Florida have begun offering access to a ‘beach club’ built by the developer or affiliated with the project. This is an amenity particularly common to Related Group projects. Related owns a network of clubhouses around South Florida that are connected to their nearby projects. These aren’t the amenities included with the projects themselves, but separate buildings with additional features. The Hyde Beach Club in Hollywood/Hallandale is on the beach itself, while the Paraiso Beach Club, in Edgewater, is on Biscayne Bay.
Having partnered with SBE Group on a number of projects, Related has also given some of their pre-construction buyers access to amenities at SBE’s SLS South Beach Hotel. Buyers at SLS Lux in Brickell, for example, got access to the hotel and its amenities.
A Gym Membership
Botaniko Weston buyers are getting memberships to Midtown Athletic Club as soon as they sign the check. Sure, it may not sound as glamorous as access to one of the Related Group’s beach clubs, but this gym comes with the full slate of amenities of a gym membership, while the beach clubs are more like really plush places to lounge and party by the water.
Invitations to Parties
Speaking of parties, buying a preconstruction pad sometimes gets you invites to a few of them. And they can be pretty damn swanky. These parties include groundbreakings, model unit openings, sales center openings, topping offs, and grand openings. One recent example was the Estates at Acqualina groundbreaking, which was stuffed with buyers and prospective buyers alike, there to get a taste of the deluxe life to come. The party featured a full marching band, skydivers, and the biggest shrimp you’ve ever seen.
Bragging rights
Finally, being able to watch your building go up on the skyline and tell people about the unit you bought there is definitely an intangible but seductive perk.
