Art Wynwood, the premier winter contemporary art fair produced by Art Miami, will return for its ninth edition at Herald Plaza on Biscayne Bay in Downtown Miami. The fair will open on Thursday, February 13th with a VIP Preview benefitting the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami (ICA Miami) before opening to the public over Presidents Day Weekend - Friday, February 14th through Monday, February 17th, 2020. Over 50 international galleries presenting world-class blue chip, modern and contemporary artwork will be on view.

Canvas, an art-festooned condo tower in Miami's so-called 'Arts and Entertainment' district, has just received its permanent certificate of occupancy. The 37-story condominium tower has over 225 original pieces of art, including, perhaps most distinctively, large wall murals in the hallways, and a mix of studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom units ranging in size from 650 to 1,205 square feet.

The former Miami Herald site is part of a multi-year deal to build an events center, while Genting moves forward on the site's marina, and stays committed to its original goal of a gambling mecca.

Edgewater, the large neighborhood lining Biscayne Bay immediately north of Miami’s urban core, is still booming. Seven residential condominium towers are either under construction or in closings, with multiple rental apartment buildings under construction as well, and a plethora of other buildings have opened within the last ten or so years.

A few days ago I slid on downtown to check out Miami's newest public park, Omni Park, a creation of Miami's maestro of temporary public spaces, Brad Knoefler. Knoefler is well known for creating Grand Central Park, a pop-up urban park which was located where part of Miami Worldcenter is being built.
